9. When I arrived  she was having lunch. She apologized  for starting without me but said that she always lunched at 12.30. 10. He always wore a raincoat and carried an umbrella when he walked to the office. 11. I shared a flat with him when we were students. He always complained  about my untidiness. 12. Why did you lent  him that book? I was still reading it. – I'm sorry. I did not know that you were still reading it. 13. Did You hear what she had just said? – No, I was not listening. I was thinking about something else. 14. Why weren’t you  at the meeting? – I was waiting for an overseas call from my family. 15. I'm sure you met Carol Jones at the party last night. – I don't remember her. What was she wearing?
