Task 2. Read the text and fill in the table below with necessary information.
Healthy lifestyle
Today healthy lifestyle is becoming more and more popular both with the old and the young. People have become more health-conscious. They say that the greatest wealth is health. And it’s so true. The healthier we are, the better we feel. The better we feel, the longer we live.
Keeping fit and going in for sports is also important for our health. Lack of exercise in our life is a serious problem. In big cities people spend hours sitting in front of computers, TV-sets and other gadgets. We walk less because we mainly use cars and public transport. We certainly don’t have to be professional sportsmen, but we should visit fitness clubs, go jogging, walk much, swim, go cycling or roller-skating or just dance. Doctors say that regular moderate physical activity is necessary for our body because it protects us from strokes and heart diseases, flue and obesity.
We must understand the harm of bad habits for our health. Smoking, drinking or taking drugs mean serious illnesses and even death from lung cancer or liver diseases, for instance. Cigarettes kill about 3 million heavy-smokers every year. Drug addicts die very young. So I think there is no place for bad habits in a healthy way of life.
Taking a proper rest and getting enough sleep, from 8 to 10 hours daily, are also great healthy habits. Sleep is the food for our brain and the rest for our muscles. Moreover we should avoid getting nervous or worried for no reason.
Healthy way of life concerns our body, mind and soul. Healthy people live longer, they are more successful and they enjoy their life. I believe that it’s not difficult at all to follow these simple rules, and they are worth it.

Dear Mike,

Thanks for your letter. It was great to hear from you. You ask me about my plans for this summer. Well, I'm going on a trip to the USA in July. I'm going to stay with my distant relatives there. They live in New York. I'd like to see as many landmarks there as possible. First of all, I would like to stroll along  Broadway. Then I'm going to take photos of the famous Statue of Liberty. Later on, I would like to visit The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum and The Metropoliten Opera. I would also like to have a rest in Central Park and to go on an excursion to The Empire State Building.  And at last, I would like to see the Times Square and, of course, much more. I hope I'll have a fantastic time in New York.

Дорогой Майк,

за твоё письмо. Было здорово узнать о твоих успехах. Ты спрашиваешь меня о моих планах на это лето. Ну, я собираюсь в путешествие в США в июле. Я собираюсь остановиться там у своих дальних родственников. Они живут в Нью-Йорке. Хотелось бы увидеть как можно больше достопримечательностей там. Прежде всего, я хотел бы прогуляться по Бродвею. Затем я собираюсь сфотографировать знаменитую Статую Свободы. Позже, я хотел бы посетить Музей Современного Искусства, музей Метрополитен и знаменитый оперный театр Метрополитен.  Я также хотел бы отдохнуть в Центральном парке и съездить на экскурсию в Эмпайр-стейт-билдинг.  И, наконец, хотелось бы увидеть Таймс-сквер и, конечно, многое другое. Надеюсь, я прекрасно проведу время в Нью-Йорке.

First of all I'm going to sleep as long as possible at the weekend because I get very tired by the end of the week. So I think I'll get up just about 10 o'clock.
After breakfast my friend and I usually go to the swimming-pool. When I return
home I do my home work. Then I help my Mum to set the table for dinner and we dine at about 2 p.m. Then I relax. Listen to music or play computer games.
Then I go for a walk with my friends. After supper I watch TV or play chess with Dad. Оn Sunday we sometimes visit our granny or she visits us. Sometimes I walk the dog, take the rubbish out or go shopping if Mum asks me to. Sometimes I do some other chores: tidy the room, help Dad to wash the car or just play with my little brother. In spring and in summer I help my parents to work in the garden. At 10 p.m. or  10.30 I go to bed.
