Michael heard his alarm clock ringing but he could not open his eyes. Then his mum came (COME) into the room and turned on the light: “I know there’s nothing more difficult (DIFFICULT) than to get up early in the morning in December.” Mum bent and kissed Michael’s cheek. “Oh, you are boiling! Your head is so hot. Michael, are (BE) you all right? Michael at last managed to open his eyes. “Yes, I’m fine. But my head is spinning and my eyes hurt.”
“It’s probably the flu. Look, Michael, I wish I could (CAN) stay with you today, but I can’t. I have to be in our office till at least 3pm.” Don’t worry, Mum. If I need anything, I’ll call (CALL) you at once.” “I have made (MAKE) sandwiches already.”
“I don’t want to eat, Mum.” “Ok. I’ll put them (THEY) in the fridge.” When his mum left, Michael woke up completely. He reached for the bookshelf and took out an old book of fairy tales. It was bought (BUY) by his great-grandmother, when he was a small child. She often said that even in her old age she loved (LOVE) these tales more than anything else. Michael opened the book and sank into the world of mystery and wonders.

Mrs White's son Arnold does not like shopping, but he loves hanging out with friends. They usually go to the local park where they play football or basketball.
Today, however, Arnold is not playing football or basketball;
he is skateboarding.
Mr White works for a multinational company. He does not work today, however, because he is not feeling well. He phoned in sick.

Present Simple используете когда говорите о привычках и рутинных делах, что делаете постоянно.
Present Continuous используете, чтобы подчеркнуть, что действие происходит прямо сейчас
Например:
I work - я работаю (имеются ввиду вообще, что у вас есть работа, но это не значит что вы прям сейчас работаете)
I am working (именно работаете прямо сейчас, в данный момент)
Dear Andrew,
Hi! How are you? I’m fine. I’m glad to say that I’m living in a new house now. I have been waiting for this moment for three years. Now, let me tell you about my new mansion.
Generally, the exterior of the house is simple and similar to other houses near it. We have a garden, a green metal fence and a little fountain in the center of the garden. But when you come into the house, you have a feeling that you’re in a fairytale. There are four rooms which are painted in different colours in order to show the beauty of all seasons. Also, we have a kitchen, a basement, a hall and a bathroom.
But if you want to see my house, come to my party next Saturday. There will be my parents, friends and other relatives. I think that we will be able to play different games in the garden including basketball, football, tennis, etc.
My house is located near the railway station, on Shevchenko Street. You can come to me using a taxi or by bus. If there are some problems, call me and I will meet you.
I’m looking forward to meeting you. Write to me if you come to my party.
Best wishes,
Adam.
