The Kaiser Chiefs are a British group from Leeds, in the north of England. The group plays pop and rock music, and they are quite popular in Europe and America. The group’s favourite place is Ibiza! They like it because it’s quiet there, and the local people are very friendly.
There are five people in the group. They all like playing and watching football, but they aren’t in a team. The name ‘The Kaiser Chiefs’ is also the name of a football team in South Africa!
The singer’s name is Ricky Wilson. Apart from music and football, he likes watching TV programmes and films. His favourite films are the Harry Potter films. He’s also very good at art. He does not speak many languages, but he knows one or two French and Spanish words.

Easter is one of the most important Christian holidays. The exact date of the holiday changes from year to year but it usually falls on April. Preparation for Easter starts seven weeks before the actual holiday. It’s called the advent of Lent. Many Christian people don’t eat meat and animal products during this period. The week before Easter is quite busy because people start thoroughly preparing for the holiday. The traditions of Easter celebration vary from country to country. For example, in our country the Sunday before Easter is called a Willow Sunday. On this day people bring home some willow branches which have been blessed in church. Thursday before Easter is called Clean Thursday. Traditionally people should bathe before sunrise on this day. Houses and flats should be cleaned too. There is also a Good Friday. It’s the day when women bake Easter bread called “paska” or “paskha”. On Saturday children dye Easter eggs, which are called “pysankas”. In the evening people go to church for the Easter mass, which lasts all night. Sunday is the actual day of Easter. People visit each other on this day and exchange colourful “pysankas”. In English-speaking countries the official symbol of this holiday is Easter bunny. Children are especially fond of this day because they get lots of chocolate and fluffy bunnies as a present.

I live in Russia. It's a very big country and there are different kinds of flora and fauna in it. The most common plant that is associated with my country is a birch tree. These trees are very beautiful as they have a number of attractive qualities, like colored bark and long branches. They can grow very high. I think that these trees grow nearly everywhere in central and southern parts of Russia. Another common plant is oak which is also associated with Russia and grows everywhere on its territory. As for common animals, they are foxes, wolves, hares, squirrels and bears. They live in the forests and sometimes in the fields. In water we can see different fish and in the noth of the country we can find some mammals like seal, walrus and whale. There are also a lot of birds both sonhgbirds(nightingale, starling,canary and many more) and waterbirds (duck, swan, goose) that inhabit the territory of our country.
Some animals have become symbols of Russia and Russian cities anв towns-as an example we can name bear.
