The Pros and Cons of E-Books (Electronic books: for and against)
We cannot imagine our world without books, although there have been predictions of their disappearance because of inventions of radio, television and the Internet. Books are still popular, but now we can choose whether to read traditional printed books or purchase and read e-books, which are electronic versions of books. Just like any other invention, e-books have their pros and cons.
The most important advantage of e-books is that we can carry around hundreds of books in one slim device (a tablet or an e-reader) that will fit in our bag or coat pocket. This is ideal for people who travel often. The second advantage is that e-books save our money — electronic versions of paperbacks are cheaper and even free sometimes. Besides, e-books are environmentally friendly because they do not require any paper or ink. Moreover, we can alter the font size or zoom in on specific sections of the text, and there is a lit background.
Nevertheless, e-books also have drawbacks. Firstly, not everybody is able to afford the cost of an e-reader. Secondly, any device with e-books needs charging and, if you are not careful, your reading gadget can be broken.
All things considered, although there are some disadvantages to reading e-books, I believe their popularity will keep growing.
Britain today is a country with a highly developed, strong and independent economy. The economic recovery after World War II took almost forty years.
