Вид памятника весьма эффектен: поза поэта непринуждённая, простая, взгляд задумчивый, устремлённый вдаль. Пушкин стоит прямо, выдвинув несколько вперёд левую ногу, правая рука заложена за жилет, на плече широкий плащ, в левой руке за спиной держит шляпу, голова немного наклонена. Полное сходство с верным портретом поэта и с маской, снятой с лица в день его кончины. На памятнике подобающая надпись и стихотворение «Я памятник себе воздвиг нерукотворный». [1]
