Lucky escapes My luckiest escape was when I was on a sailing holiday in Turkey with my family. One night there was a terrible storm. Dad told us to keep calm and just what he said. It was really difficult – we were terrified and the wind was so strong that it was difficult to stand up. He told us to put on our life jackets and to tie ourselves to the side of the boat. He was really calm and finally, after seven hours the weather changed and we were safe. I was so happy I cried!

Last year I went to America to visit my aunt and uncle. My plane took off at 5.30 am, but I read the ticket so quickly that I read it as 5.30 pm and I missed the plane. I was standing in the airport when I heard an announcement. The plane had crashed. I could not believe it. What a lucky escape.
