My favorite book is "The Sword of Truth", written by Terry Gunkinde. It is a fantastic story. The first rule of the wizard tells us about simple forest conductor from the Westland, called Richard Sifer. His grandfather names him "The searcher of the Truth", and gives him a magical sword. Richard has to fight with the strongest black wizard of the Three Kingdoms, with the ruthless Darken Rale, the Lord of D'Hara, his own father, for possession of three caskets of Orden, the first one gives immortality, the second- gives death, ant the third one brings death to every lively thing...
