You : What kinds of conflicts do you know?
Your partner: Well, I know different kinds of conflicts: personal, political and global. Which kind of conflicts are you interested most of all?
You: Of course, personal conflicts. Tell me a few words  about this kind of conflicts.
Your partner: Well, these conflicts are happen between different people: between classmates, friends and etc.
You: Of course, I may add something, such as: roommates, colleagues, between students and teachers...
Your partner: Yes! And of course, between the members of the family as a rule.
You: How often do you have conflicts?
Your partner: Oh, very seldom. And what about you?
You: Sometimes I have conflicts, but not very often.
Your partner: How do you think, what are the most common causes of conflicts?
Your: Misunderstanding, I think.
Your partner: Is it possible to avoid conflicts?
You: Yes, sure. We should be more tolerant to each other.
Your partner: Thank you for interesting conversation.
You: You are welcome.

My Working Day

I study at school so my working days are all the weekdays when I go to school. So I am going to describe my typical school day.

It starts early in the morning. I wake up at half past six. Then I get up, do my morning exercises and take a shower. After that I get dressed and have my breakfast. At half past seven I leave home.

It usually takes me about 15 minutes to get to my school. Our lessons start at 8 o'clock. In the classroom I chat with my classmates till the bell rings. We usually have six or seven lessons with short and long breaks between them. During the breaks we have a rest, talk, play different games. After our second lesson we go to the school canteen to have lunch.

After school I go home and have dinner. Then I wash the dishes and go to my room to have a rest. I never start doing my homework as soon as I come home from school. I like to listen to music or read a book. After that I do my homework - written assignments first. I seldom spend more than two hours doing homework.

In the evening, after supper I usually meet my friends, or play computer games or watch TV. At ten o'clock I go to bed.

Surely many of you have heard “I’m your mother (father) so I know what is the best for you!”.

But do parents really know what is best for their children? Do they realise what their child is really capable of? For example, they rarely understand how schools work unless they are teachers themselves or have relatives who are teachers. If their child broke a leg they would not try to fix it themselves. They would take the child to a health care professional.  So why is it so hard for some parents to take their child to an education professional? Unfortunately, children don't come with a manual - imagine how great that would be! Maybe then parents would make less mistakes. Certainly parents should be part of the decision about the child’s education. It is horrible when parents demand inappropriate programs for their child and not accept the truth that a child with a low IQ should not go to college or university.

I think parents should stand by their children and support them all the time. They should give them love and encouragement. But sometimes parents do not allow their children to follow their own path. Parents want their children to achieve more than they did. They want their children to have what they could not have. So with all these good intentions in mind, they seem to think that they know what is best for their children. Though many times what the parents want for their children is passed off as their expectations for them. For example, they try to dictate to their children that a certain occupation is better than what they want. It is sad that they do not care about what their children really want.

So many children are left with the task of trying to meet the expectations of their parents and not trying to figure out what makes them happy. Children need to be able to make their own decisions. Everyone needs to explore the opportunities and challenges they are faced with and learn from their own mistakes.
