1.There are 3 types of holidays in Russia:family holidays,state holidays and religious holidays. 2. Family holidays are birthdays, anniversaries,weddings and so on. For example: My family celebrates my birthday at home with my relatives. We hang balloons,make a cake,decorate home. 3. The state holidays in Russia are: Constitution Day,New Year's Day,the International Women's Day,May Day,Victory Day and Russia Day. 4. New Year is the major holiday in Russia. Russians decorate home,put a fir-tree and decorate it with glass balls and colourful toys. The traditions of this holiday are to put a fir tree,decorate home,to make presents,to be friendly with all people. 5. Victory Day-is a day,when we remember the people who protected our country from German Invaders during World War II. On this day people congratulate veterans and give them flowers. Victory Day is celebrated on the 9 of May. 6. Religious holidays are Christmas,Easter and others. There are also pagan holiday like Shrovetide or Pancake day. On Shrovetide people eat pancakes,see spring in and burn the scarecrow,which symbolizes winter. 7. Foreign Celebrations are:Halloween and St. Valentine's day.

I always thought that taking pictures is the best way to keep your memories. Last holidays I spent in a countryside near my hometown. It's a very beautiful place, it's surrounded by beautiful meadows and woods. Also there is fantastic sky with million stars that I enjoy looking at during night. I was going to swim in a nearby river every day, it's one of my all time favorite activities! Swimming makes me feel very happy. I guess I'd say that I like summer holidays more. Winter holidays are also nice because of Christmas and snow, but there are much more interesting things I can do during summer.
