Правила: чтобы построить сравнительную форму прилагательного, требуется в случае односложного или двусложного прилагательного добавить окончание -er, в случае многосложного (3 и больше слогов) просто перед словом добавить more.

В случае построения превосходной формы прилагательного нам требуется всегда перед прилагательным ставить артикль the, а затем в случае односложного или двусложного прилагательного добавить окончание -est, а в случае многосложного - добавить most.

Также есть исключения: good - better - the best;  bad - worse - the worst;    far - farther/further - the farthest/the furtherst;   old - older/elder - the oldest/the eldest;   many/much - more - the most;    little - less - the least.
