Tennis is a sport that originated in England around the 19th century and is now played in a host of countries around the world. There are four major tournaments known as the ‘majors’ that include Wimbledon, US Open, French Open and Australian tournament. The game of tennis played on a rectangular court with a net running across the centre. The aim is to hit the ball over the net landing the ball within the margins of the court and in a way that results in your opponent being unable to return the ball. You win a point every time your opponent is unable to return the ball within the court A tennis match can be played by either one player on each side – a singles match – or two players on each side – a doubles match. The rectangular shaped court has a base line (at the back), service areas (two spaces just over the net in which a successful serve must land in) and two tram lines down either side. A singles match will mean you use the inner side tram line and a doubles match will mean you use the outer tram line. A court can be played on four main surfaces including grass, clay, hard surface and carpet. Each tournament will choose one surface type and stick without throughout. All that is required in terms of equipment is a stringed racket each and a tennis ball. You need to score four points to win a game of tennis. The points are known as 15 (1 point), 30 (two points), 40 (three points) and the fourth would result in the winning point and the end of that game. If the scores went to 40-40 this would be known as deuce. When a game reaches deuce the player must then win by two clear points. To win the game you must win a certain amount of sets (best of three for women’s matches and best of 5 sets for men’s matches). Winning a set is simply the first player to reach 6 games but have to be clear by at least 2 games. If your opponent wins 5 games you must win the set 7-5. If the set goes to 6-6 then a tie break is played and it’s simply the first player to 7 points.

Каждый розыгрыш очка начинается с подачи. Право подачи постоянно в течение игры переходит от одного игрока к другому. Игрок, стоя за задней линией у линии, разделяющей корт пополам вдоль, должен перебросить мяч в диагонально противоположную площадь подачи половины противника. Первая подача всегда осуществляется справа от центральной линии. После каждого очка подающий переходит на другую сторону от центральной линии.
Если мяч попадает за линию площади подачи или в сетку, то игрок имеет право на вторую подачу. Если такое происходит повторно, то очко противнику присуждается. Также считается нарушением заступ подающего за заднюю линию. Если мяч касается сетки, но перелетает на сторону противника, то подача переигрывается.
Гейм
Каждый гейм начинается со счета 0-0. Если подающий выигрывает подачу счет становится 15-0, если проигрывает 0-15. Следующая подача приводит к счету 30, затем 40, следующий розыгрыш приводит к выигрышу гейма в случае, если противник имеет счет 30 или меньше. Если оба игрока имеют по 40, то выигрыш следующей подачи дает преимущество. Игрок, имеющий преимущество и выигравший следующую подачу, побеждает в гейме.
Сет
Игрок, выигравший 6 геймов, считается выигравшим сет. Если счет в сете 6-5, то разыгрывается еще один гейм. Если счет становится 7-5, сет заканчивается. Если счет становится 6-6, то разыгрывается тай-брейк.
Матч
Матч может быть 3-сетовым или 5-сетовым. В 3-сетовом побеждает игрок выигравший 2 сета, в 5-сетовом - 3 сета.
Тай-брейк
Подающий игрок делает первую подачу, затем противник делает две подачи, далее смена идет через две подачи. Первый, кто наберет 7 очков с разницей в 2 очка, считается выигравшим тай-брейк. Тай-брейк длится столько сколько необходимо, пока не будет достигнута разница в два очка. Смена площадок происходит после каждых 6 очков.
Последний сет в игре играется без тай-брейка.
Другие правила
- линия считается полем;
- кроме подачи, мяч, задевший сетку и упавший на стороне противника засчитывается;
- подача должна быть отбита только после отскока мяча, в то время, как во время игры мяч может быть отбит и до касания им поверхности корта;
- очко не засчитывается, если мяч коснулся тела, отбит до пересечения им линии сетки, или если игрок коснулся сетки или стойки сетки ракеткой, рукой или другой частью тела.
Формат соревнований
Для индивидуальных соревнований производится посев лучших 16 игроков, которые равномерно распределяются среди участников так, чтобы игроки одной страны и сеянные игроки если и встретились между собой, то как можно позже.
Innings
Each drawing begins with the points. The right to supply continuously for the game passes from one player to another. game
Each game starts 0-0. If the server wins supply the score becomes 15-0 when losing 0-15. If both players have 40, you win the next filing an advantage. The player with the advantage and won the next pitch, wins the game.
Set
The player who wins six games, is considered to win the set. If the score in the set 6-5, then played one more game. If the score becomes 7-5, the set ends. If the score becomes 6-6, then played out a tie-break.
Match
The match may be 3 or 5 sets of sets. The 3-sets wins a player has won 2 sets, 5 sets - 3 sets.
Tie-Break
Feeding the player makes the first pitch, then the opponent makes a two-feeding, then the change goes through two feed. The first one to pick up 7 points with a difference of 2 points is considered to have won the tie-break. Tie-Break lasts as long as necessary, until you reach a difference of two points. Changing sites occurs after every 6 points.

Other rules
- The line is considered to be a field;
- Except for filing the ball, zadevshy grid and crashed on the side of the opponent shall be counted;
- Supply must be repulsed only after a rebound, while, as in the game, the ball may be tapped and before touching the surface of the court;
- A point not scored if the ball touched the body, recaptured before it crossed the line of the grid, or if a player touched the net or mesh rack racket hand or other body part.
