Jude Law was born on December 29, 1972 in southeast London (UK) in the family of schoolteachers Peter and Maggie Law. Jude was named after the Beatles song "Hey Jude". His father worked as an elementary school teacher, and his mother taught English to refugee children. Jude was the second child in the family and studied at a regular school until the age of fourteen, but then, due to bullying from classmates, his parents were forced to transfer him to a private school in Dulwich.
