(: "все когда-нибудь смотрели на звезды и, может быть, даже не один раз. смотрели и наверняка задумывались, откуда же эти самые звезды взялись и почему мы порой засматриваемся на них? так вот. когда-то давным-давно на небе не было звезд, оно днем было голубым, а ночью – темным и почти непроницаемым для человеческого взора. в то самое время жила в жемчужном озере прекрасная русалка. много лет она беззаботно плавала в водной бездне озера, играла с живущими там же рыбами и другими русалками. нужно сказать, что у русалок никогда не было никаких хвостов – все это выдумки. у русалок были такие же ноги, как и у людей, и они не только пели, но и танцевали по ночам на полянах возле озера. жители ближайшей деревни говорили, что нельзя смотреть на танцующих русалок и боялись ходить к озеру с наступлением темноты. люди верили, что если девушка посмотрит на поющих и танцующих русалок, то сама превратится в русалку, а если юноша – то суждено ему сгинуть в водной пучине. однажды один паренек из деревни решил таки во что бы то ни стало посмотреть на русалок и, как только стемнело, пошел на поляну возле озера. притаился он за деревьями и стал ждать появления русалок. вскоре русалки в самом деле вышли из озера, затянули свою песню и начали танцевать. до самого утра они танцевали, а паренек не мог глаз оторвать. однако с первым лучом солнца русалки начали возвращаться в озеро, и тут одна из них – та, что шла последней и была самой младшей – заметила спрятавшегося за деревьями паренька. она никогда прежде не видела людей, но решила не говорить остальным русалкам о том, что видела. да только с тех пор русалочка все время вспоминала о пареньке, все о чем-то грустила. ей вдруг почему-то захотелось жить на земле, среди людей, а не в пучине озера среди рыб и русалок. и вот однажды она решила днем выйти из озера и пойти в ту сторону, в которую убежал паренек. она так и сделала. однако проходив целый день и целую ночь по лесу, она не нашла деревни и к тому же почувствовала, что не может больше без воды. ей ничего не оставалось, как вернуться в озеро. и вот когда она вернулась, то увидела свет в окнах деревенских домов, и поняла, что деревня была совсем рядом, а она блуждала в другой стороне. тут русалочку охватило чувство горечи и отчаянья, безысходности и собственной – ведь она больше всего на свете хотела жить на земле, как люди, и именно этого не могла сделать - она заплакала и всплеснула воду руками. однако капли воды не упали обратно в озеро, а застыли в небе и засветились, подобно свету в далеких окнах. это несбывшиеся мечты русалочки и других зажглись на небе. с тех пор на небе появились звезды и луна, а каждая несбывшаяся мечта загорается новой звездой на небе. вспоминайте об этом, когда любуетесь ."
