All Russian children have the right to education, but it is not only a right, it is a duty, too. Education in our country is compulsory and it lasts eleven years. It consists of (1) primary education and secondary education.
Children (2) start school at the of 6 or 7. After finishing primary school pupils on to (3) secondary school. The school year starts in September and ends in May. Generally there are four (4) terms with holidays up to 10 days between them. The summer holidays (5) last from June to September. Children study different subjects such as Russian, Literature, History, Maths, (6) P.E., etc.
Most schools in Russia are comprehensive, which take pupils of all abilities without entrance exams. As a rule, students (7) attend school 5 days a week. After finishing the 9th form students must take examinations and continue their education.
Hi, I am from Ukraine. My country is big and beautiful. It’s the biggest country in Europe. The capital of Ukraine is Kyiv. It has many places of historical interest there. There are many other old and beautiful cities in Ukraine such as Odesa, Lviv, Kharkiv. We have two seas in Ukraine, huge forests, mountains and rivers. Ukrainian soil is very good for agriculture. It gives rich harvest. Ukraine has got very lovely nature and good climate. My country has nice and welcoming citizens. I love living here.
