Rosa Rymbaeva was born at Zhangiztobe station in Semipalatinsk region in a railway worker's family. She graduated from the Music and Drama Comedy Department of the Theatre and Art Institute in Alma-Ata. In 1976-1979 she was the soloist of the Republican youth pop group "Gulder", from 1979 - soloist of the variety ensemble "Arai", whose director and artistic director was her husband Taskyn Okapi. She reached the peak of her fame in 1977-1979, when she was a finalist of the "Song of the Year" festival and ranked among the ten best USSR singers in the hit parade "Soundtrack" (1978 - 3rd place, directly following Alla Pugacheva and Sofia Rotaru) [1]. From 1979 to the present day - the soloist of the "Kazakhconcert" National Concert Association. At the same time, since 1995, she has been a teacher of the Kazakh Academy of Arts named after T.Zhurgenov. She lives in Alma-Ata.
