Mother’s Day comes on the second Sunday in May. It is a day when Americans honour their mothers. It is not a national holiday. Mother’s Day is an American national observance in honour of motherhood. The holiday, suggested by Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia, was set (1914) by an act of Congress for annual celebration. It is also observed in England and Germany. In 1907, the day was celebrated in a church in Philadelphia, Pensylvania. A member of that church planned the Sunday morning service to honour her own mother. More and more churches in cities and states set aside the day to honour mothers.Since 1914, the whole country has observed Mother’s day. Most mothers like to celebrate the day with family reunions.
Many people send their mothers a card or a gift. Some people take their mothers to a restaurant for dinner. It is a custom to wear a red or pink flower if one’s mother is living. It is the custom to wear a white flower if one’s mother is dead.

First let’s get all the ingredients we’ll need:
Сначала давай возьмем все необходимые ингредиенты:
4 tbsp of olive oil 4 ст. л. оливкового масла
2 onions • 2 луковицы
pumpkin 1kg • 1 кг тыквы
700ml of water • 700 мл воды (овощного или куриного (vegetable or chicken stock) бульона)
150ml of cream (15-20%) • 150 мл сливок (15-20%)
4 slices of bread • 4 куска хлеба
handful of pumpkin seeds • горсть семян тыквы(из этого количества ингредиентов получится очень много супа, мы брали половину и получилось 2 детских порции и 2 взрослых.
First we need to wash the pumpkin, cut it, take out the insides and peel it.
Сначала мы должны вымыть тыкву, разрезать ее, вынуть внутренности и очистить кожуру.
And I’m going to chop it into small chunks.
И теперь я собираюсь порезать ее на небольшие куски.
Now I wash and peel the onions and chop it finely. (into very small pieces).
Теперь я и почищу лук и порежу его очень мелко. (на очень маленькие кусочки).
Now I’m going to heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large saucepan and cook chopped onions for 5 mins, until they are soft.
Теперь я разогрею 2 столовых ложки оливкового масла в большой сковородке, и обжарю нарезанный лук в течение 5 минут, пока он не станет мягким.
Now I add the chopped pumpkin to the pan, and carry on cooking for 8-10 mins, stirring occasionally until it starts to soften and turn golden.

Now I pour 700ml of water into the pan, and season with salt and pepper.

Let it boil, then simmer for 10 mins until the pumpkin is very soft.

Let’s pour the cream into the pan and bring back to the boil.

Now we need to purée our soup with a blender.

While the soup is cooking, I’m going to cut the bread into small croutons.

Let’s heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a frying pan and fry the bread until it starts to become crisp.

You can add a handful of pumpkin seeds to the pan and we’ll cook for a few minutes more until they are toasted.

Recycling starts when you put your rubbish in the recycling bins. A recycling truck collects all the materials and takes them to recycling facilities for sorting. From there, they are sent to factories and new products are manufactured. This is the second part of the process. The third part is where the consumer comes in. Recycled materials are everywhere, even in the clothing we wear. Buying clothes made from recycled material makes recycling work and completes the recycling loop. Look at my fleece jacket and gloves for example. Here they are! They are great, aren't they? Believe it or not, they are all made of recycled plastic!
Next time you go shopping for clothes and accessories, look for items which display the recycling logo. This way you help conserve precious resources and eliminate waste overflow in landfills. Remember you are the driving force. Only you can persuade manufactures to produce recycled products.
