The Creator created the world and gave high mountains, transparent lakes and green forests to all countries. But, for some reason, he forgot about the Kazakh people. He left them with a huge steppe that stretched across the country. She was beautiful, but people were sad. Where were their mountains, lakes and forests? Where were their rivers, fish and wild animals?
Aldar Kose was cheeky, but very kind. He didn't want to see Kazakhs sad. And he decided to go and see the Creator himself.
"Oh, wise Creator!" said Aldar to Kos. "Kazakhs are kind people, why did you give them only the steppe? Can you give us mountains too?"
So the Creator gave the Kazakhs the Karatau Mountains.
Aldar kos looked carefully. He saw the Creator taking mountains out of the bag.
"So this is where the Creator keeps all the treasures!" Aldar thought to kos.
Quietly, Aldar spit crept up to the bag and made a hole there. And all the treasures fell out, mountains, lakes, forests, rivers and fish and wild animals too. They settled in Kazakhstan, right in the middle of the steppe. People were happy.
