One day in the morning newspaper I saw my photo. The picture showed me running across the road. The title of the article was "Teach your kids road safety rules". I immediately recognized the place — it was not far from my school — and I clearly remembered being late for school two days before. I overslept because I had forgotten to set the alarm clock, so I had to run fast to school. To save time I decided not to go another hundred meters to the pedestrian crossing but to take a short cut. I also remembered looking left and right before running across the road, and I ran forward only because there were no cars in sight, but at that moment someone took a photo of me running.
Now I felt confused, annoyed and angry at the same time. I thought of my family and friends and all the people who knew me. What would they think when they saw that picture?
That day I promised to myself that I would never break any road safety rules.
