My timetable is overloaded sometimes, but I find time to do the things that I like. When I’m free, I read an interesting book, listen to music, meet up with friends or go cycling around the lake. When I want to learn something new about the world, I turn on the TV. My favourite channel is Discovery. I watch this channel since childhood and I must say that thanks to it my perception of the world became richer. I’ve learned many interesting things, connected with science, technology and history. In fact, Discovery comes in many different languages. So, when I want to improve my listening skills I watch it in English. This channel was launched in 1985 in the USA. Originally it consisted only of documentary programs about popular science. However, later it expanded into reality television and soon it became one of the best channels of non-fiction programming in the world. Apart from series of scientific documentaries the channel has several programs aimed at younger audience. Today, Discovery is watched in 170 countries across the world. It’s a commercial channel, so we pay for a monthly fee for having it. In my opinion, such channels are not only entertaining, but highly educational. Unfortunately, I’m allowed to watch TV for no longer than three hours a day. All I get to see is just a couple of programs. My favourite ones are “How it’s made” and “MythBusters”.
Travelling is very popular nowadays. a lot of people travel to different countries if they have such opportunity. travelling allows you to get interesting experience, learn about people’s life in other countries and continents. i think it is very interesting to discover new things, new places and different ways of life. while on travel, you meet new people, try different meals; see world famous places with your own eyes. these are many ways of traveling — by train, by plain, by ship, on foot. if you want to visit a far country, you’ll definitely choose a flight. if your aim is to see many countries for a short time, you’ll choose travelling by bus or by car. if you want to be closer to nature, you may choose a trip on foot. lots of people nowadays live in big cities. so it’s natural that they want to have a holiday by the sea or in the mountains with nothing to do but relaxing. there is other sort of travellers. they want to visit as many countries as possible. so after exploring europe and north america they go to exotic countries. people who travel a lot, are very interesting, they always have a good story to tell. thanks to them you can learn many things which you didn’t know before. they motivate to see something new, to explore the world, which is so easy to do nowadays. any kind of travel helps you to understand many things that you would never see or learn at home.
Travel is always something new and interesting, it is a meeting with new people, cities and sights. Journey always gives new emotions and impressions, it allows you to escape from everyday life and plunge into a new different life, at least for a few days. Most often, people go to travel while on vacation. Some people prefer warm resorts for recreation, the southern countries, they enjoy the view of the sea, sand, shells and waves, this group of people enjoys swimming in the sea, from the warm sun and fresh breeze, from sea excursions. Other travelers like to visit countries and cities to get acquainted with a new culture, to see how other people live, to admire world-famous cultural monuments. Still others prefer extreme travel, it is interesting for them to see the mountains alive, climb them or master the seabed on their own, raft along the river. We all have different hobbies and preferences, depending on them we choose our type of travel. One thing is for sure, a journey is always something bright and unforgettable; it is a sea of smiles and a good mood.
