Dawes left school six months ago. But she did not straight on to university after the holidays like a lot of her schoolmates. In Septenber she has done something she had wanted to do for some time. She took a gap year. Since then, she has traveled to three different countries and has spent between two and four weeks in each one. She didnt learn three new languages though, because all the countries are French-speaking! But she started to learn some Italian, because Italy is her next stop - and she can't wait! 'I have always want to see Italy. It'a a country I have never visited, so I'm incredibly excited about it!'

My Summer Holidays.
Summer is over, autumn is here. But I still remember my summer holidays.
I can say that I enjoyed them a lot. In June I stayed at home, met my friends and went to different places of interest in my home town. I read some good books too. In July my parents took me to the South, to the sea. It was the best part of my summer holidays: I swam in the sea and lay in the sun on the beach. In August we came back home. I spent the last summer month with my grandparents in their country house.
It’s a very picturesque place with a forest and a river nearby. I was happy to see my grandmother and grandfather. I spent hot days on the riverbank. Once we went hiking with my parents, made a fire and cooked our meal in it, we also gathered some berries. The summer forest was very beautiful. In the evening I usually helped in the garden. During the last week of the summer I was at home again, relaxing after "such an intensive rest"! I did usual things and prepared for school. I really liked my last summer holidays!
