British must stay at school from the age of 5 until they are 16.Many of them stay longer and take final exams when they are 17 or 18. Children spend 6 years in elementary school, and 4 or 6 years in secondary or high school. School education is free. At the end of every school year, the children take a test. If a child does good, he goes into next class .  At the end of their time at school, most students get a high school diploma. If they want to on to college, they take college admission tests. In Britain, there are state schools, which are also free, and private schools for which parent’s pay . The children stay at school all the time, and only come home in some holidays. Actually , British wear school uniform. It's one of the oldest country's traditions. A boy's uniform includes a cap, a tie and a blazer. A girl's uniform incluses a hat , a skirt , a coat and a blouse. And  the uniforms for boys and girls are usually dark.
