Amerigo Vespucci was boen in Italy. He was a sailor and all his life he made sea voyages. He was dreaming to sail east and bring back a lot of gold. By that time people didn't know, that the planet was round. He decided to sail west and find the misterious land - India. He was very interested in it. So he started to sail west but didn't reach India. Instead of it he arrived in central part of the continent which was later called America. Now we all know that he discovered America - the continent which was called after him.
