Кардифф это столица Уэльса, соответственно язык должен быть английский, но до начала римского завоевания Британии на территории Кардиффа существовало поселение силуров (50-е года нашей эры). Оставление Британии римлянами произошло в конце четвертого, начале пятого веков нашей эры, то есть на тот момент могли разговаривать и на древнеримском языке. Затем было завоевание данного города нормандцами, а с 1081 года он уже стал английским городом, но валлийские правители также приняли участие в его истории.
