Задайте 5 вопросов на по тексту. jessica constantinidis shares a four-bedroom house in north london with her hasband, their four-year-old son tommy and her 79-year-old mother olive. jessica, 34, and andy ,42, sold their three-bedroom house in turnpike lane and moved in with her mother , olive constantinidis in nearby tottenham , while they waited to find a buyer for her home. when both residences were sold, they were free to move into their new home the finsbury park area of london. jessica says, "we've got a big house now which we wanted so that my mother could still have as much independence as possible. she can have her own area, with her microwave and her own tv. but we eat family meals all together at weekend" sharing with olive enabled jessica and her family to mowe into a larger and more comfortable house than they could have affored on their own. the new arrangement has proved an added bonus for jessica and andy's son tommy. she says, " he loves it. my mother is really good with him and it is nice for him to have more than just two people around. they are always playind and doing things together and watching videod and she can keep an eye on him for us sometimes as well." though the protest of living with parents or in-laws might not be to everybody's taste, jessica has no regrets. she says " if we hadn't moved in together as an extended family , we wouldn't have bought such a big house. it certainly worked for us in our situation and i would reaky recommend it"

2 oct 2007

australia holds the world record for mammal extinctions. we have lost 20 species in the last 200 years, almost half the global total in that time. but an impending ecological tragedy in tasmania could mean this dismal record is about to get worse.

mammal extinctions on the mainland were caused primarily by the red fox and feral cat. foxes never became established in tasmania, and although tasmania has feral cats they seem to have had little impact. aside from the extinction of the thylacine (the “tasmanian tiger”), tasmania has kept a healthy mammal fauna.

the fox now has a foothold in tasmania, thanks to a recent series of accidental introductions and possibly malicious releases. tasmanian wildlife and agricultural authorities are striving mightily to suppress this small population before it explodes and wrecks their island’s biodiversity and damages farming
