First, each person has his own interest, his skills and qualities. 3.Why didn't you tell me you could lend me the money? I woulldn't have needed to borrow it form the bank. 4. The driver said he could not undergo thorough testing before he joined the competition.  5. It's time we went. If we do not leave now, we will miss the last train.
6. Were you cut off while I was talking to you just now? You were? I think something must have gone wrong with the telephone.
7.The manager is talking to an important customer at the moment but he will be free (to see) you presently. Would you like to take a seat for a few minutes?
8.I know I ought to have written to you before, but I have been so busy recently that I did not (have) time for (writing) letters, I (would have telephoned) you instead, but I
