My name is and I’m years old. My hobbies are listening to music and drawing. I would like to tell you a few words about my favourite musician - Bob Marley. He was a Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter. He was also a talented musician and guitarist. Although he died many years ago, his fame and international recognition are still alive. I like listening to his music, because it cheers me up and keeps in good mood. I know that apart from being a musician, Bob Marley was a wise man. He was against the war and against any racial, national, religious or sex discrimination. He wanted everybody on Earth to live in peace and harmony. The songs that I especially like by Bob Marley are “Sunshine Reggae” and “Give me just a little smile”. By the way, my favourite singer was born on February 6th 1945, in Jamaica. His father died when he was a child. Together with his friend Bunny Wailer, also a Jamaican-born musician, Marley formed a small music band. At the age of 12, he was already playing with a successful vocal group. It is interesting that he had no official vocal training, but his voice was superb. Many people nowadays call him the king of reggae or the father of Jamaican music and they are certainly right. Millions of people fell in love with the music he played. I just wonder what else he would achieve if he would live a bit longer. He died at the age of thirty-six. However, his music is still alive and it has influenced many other prominent musicians, such as Bono, Lauryn Hill. His kind quotations are often cited by people around the world. She’s purposeful, hard-working and patient person. She always achieves success and overcomes difficulties. Ann does well at school and she’s high achiever. Her favourite subjects are mathematics and literature. Ann is fond of drawing. She has been going to art school for four years. Also she’s very careful and polite. Ann helps her mother to keep house with pleasure. We like to watch comedies and animated cartoons together. Ann is sociable and cheerful. It is always interesting to talk to her. I can rely on her in hour of need and I know that she’ll help me. Ann is wonderful friend. If we don’t see each other for a short while I miss her. Меня зовут.Мне 12 лет. Family is an integral part of every person’s life. It is the most important social unit. A sense of stability and tradition, that family provides, can’t be replaced by anything or anyone. Perhaps, every family follows some special traditions that have been passed to them by former generations. My family is not an exception. For example, in my family it is habitual to dine together. Every evening, when my parents come home from work, we have a nourishing family dinner. First of all, it lets us feel as a close unit. Secondly, we get to discuss the important events of the day. The same tradition can be seen in my grandparents’ house. Other than that, we are used to share the household chores. Everyone has its own duties. For example, my mum is responsible for cooking, while my dad always does the shopping. I’m responsible for the pets and plants, while my older sister is responsible for washing the dishes and vacuum-cleaning. In my opinion, we are a close-knit and friendly family. Each time there is an official holiday we invite the friends and arrange a posh feast. We especially like celebrating New Year and Christmas. The traditional New Year dishes in our home are a roast chicken, a couple of Russian salads and my mum’s specialty - a vanilla cake. We always prepare postcards and presents for everyone who visits us and for our family members. The presents are usually placed under the Christmas tree. Other family tradition is going out on Friday nights. Every Friday we go out for a dinner. After that, we either come back home to watch a good movie, or we go to the cinema. There are lots of other traditions in my family, but these seem to be the most important ones.
