price: What price did you pay for the bag? What is the price of this suit? — Сколько вы заплатили за сумку? Какова цена (сколько стоит) этого костюма?
sell (sold, sold): Farmers sell vegetables and fruit in the market. Apples are selling at a low price in autumn. — Фермеры продают овощи и фрукты на рынке. Осенью яблоки продаются по низкой цене (щаз, дождешься...).
department: The shoe department of this shop is on the second floor. Tomorrow my mother will take me to the children’s clothing (clothes) department to buy me a coat. — Обувной отдел магазина на втором этаже. Завтра моя мама возьмет меня в отдел детской одежды, чтобы купить мне пальто.
store: This large store sells clothes. There is a small store in the village where you can get different things. — Этот большой магазин продает одежду. В деревне есть маленький магазин, в котором вы можете получить (купить) разные вещи (ага, хлеб по выходным).
sweet: On her birthday she received a box of sweets. My grandmother does not like sweets. — На ее день рождения она получила коробку конфет. Моя бабушка не любит конфеты.
ice-cream: An ice-cream is very good in hot weather. Do you like ice-cream? — Мороженое очень хорошо в жаркую погоду. Вы любите мороженое?
shopping: When his mother is at the factory he goes shopping. She did her shopping in the morning and was back before breakfast. — Когда его мама на фабрике, он ходит за покупками. Она сходила за покупками утром и вернулась назад до завтрака.

Shops and Shopping

There are different kinds of shops. Some of them sell bread. Others have tea, sugar, coffee, butter, cheese, sausages, meat, fruit. When we want to buy something, we take our shopping-bag and go to a shop. There we can see shop-assistants who sell things. Many people do their shopping at the market. There farmers and other people sell vegetables and fruit which they grow themselves. They sell meat, milk and other things too.

Large shops with many departments are department stores and supermarkets. In these stores we can buy almost all we want. In the windows we see all the things which they sell there — food, suits, dresses, coats, boots, shoes, radio and TV sets, and many other things.

Достатньо добре, щоб вільно спілкуватись і читати.Особливо якщо, скажімо, є перспектива поїхати в англомовну країну, то як краще вчити мову:самотужки, обклавшись аудіо-відео записами, словниками і т д і т п, з репетитором (якщо так, то де його толкового знайти),на курсах (на яких саме? конкретно).Зараз мої знання англійської - це звичайний шкільний рівень, я б сказала нижче середнього.
