The culture of Azerbaijan is the culture of the peoples and nationalities that lived and lived in the territory of Azerbaijan and the States that existed in the territory of modern Azerbaijan. The development of culture on the territory of Azerbaijan reflected its rich political and military turmoil history and position on the routes that have since ancient times connected the East with the West[1].
In the XIV-XV centuries. with the beginning of the formation of the Azerbaijani Turkic-speaking ethnic group-the main people inhabiting Azerbaijan, there is its culture, which did not originally have its stable centers, and it is quite difficult for this time to separate from the Ottoman culture. In the XV century, two centers of Azerbaijani culture were formed-South Azerbaijan and Plain Karabakh, which finally formed later, in the XVI—XVIII centuries[2]. Speaking about the origin of Azerbaijani culture in the XIV-XV centuries, it is necessary to keep in mind first of all literature and other parts of culture, organically connected with the language. As for material culture, it remained traditional after the Turkization of the local population. Having become independent, the Azerbaijani culture has maintained close ties with the Iranian and Arab. They were held together by a common religion and common cultural and historical traditions[2].
The archaeological remains and preserved monuments of material culture show the culture of living on the territory of Azerbaijan peoples in prehistoric (the finds in Gobustan) and in the Albanian period (the churches in the villages of Lekit there and Kum)[3]. With the spread of Islam, Muslim culture has been developing for many centuries, mosques, madrasahs, mausoleums are being built, and ornamental forms of decorative art are mainly developing. Joining Russia at the beginning of the XIX century allowed the peoples living in the territory of Azerbaijan to join the Russian and through it — to the world culture. A radical change is planned in the cultural development of Azerbaijan in the Soviet period[1]. The 21st century is marked by the modernization of Azerbaijan in the cultural sphere[4]
