Communication Systems and Information Technology

Communication theory deals primarily with systems for transmitting information from one point to another. The source output represents a voice waveform, a sequence of binary digits from a magnetic tape, or target in a radar system. The channel may represent a telephone line, a high frequency radio link, a space communication link, or a storage medium.
As it is known, in the early 1940’s a mathematical theory for dealing with more fundamental aspects of communication systems was developed. The distinguishing characteristics of this theory are, first, a great emphasis on probability theory, and second, a primary concern with the encoder and decoder. This concerns their functional roles and their achieving a given level of performance. Later information theory was extended and applied in practical communication system.
Information technology is the study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems, particularly software applications and computer hardware. Information technology deals mainly with the use of electronic computers and computer software to convert, store, protect, transmit as well as securely retrieve information.
Today the term information technology includes many aspects of computing and technology and covers many fields. Information technology professionals perform a variety of duties that range from installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases. The duties of IT specialists may involve data management, networking, engineering computer hardware, database and software design, as well as the management and administration of the whole system. When computer and communication technologies are combined, the result is information technology, or “infotech”. Information technology describes any technology that helps to produce, manipulate, store, communicate and or disseminate information.

A crossword puzzle is a game of words where the player is given a hint and the number of letters. The player then fills in a grid of boxes by finding the right words. Liverpool journalist, Arthur Wynne invented the first crossword puzzle.Arthur WynneArthur Wynne was born on June 22, 1871 in Liverpool, England. He immigrated to the United States at the age of nineteen. He first lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and worked for the Pittsburgh Press newspaper. An interesting side-note, was that Wynne also played violin in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.Later, Arthur Wynne moved to Cedar Grove, New Jersey and started working for a New York City based newspaper called the New York World. He wrote the first crossword puzzle for the New York World, published on Sunday, December 21, 1913. 1) Aidar says that he has got acquainted with an English boy of his age.

2) Nick asks him who he is and where he is from.
3) Aidar answers that he is John Smith and his father has come to Astana from London as a businessman for several weeks.
4) Nick asks Aidar if he is going to introduсe John to him.
5) Aidar answers he will introduсe John not only to Nick. Aidar suggests to invite him to their class. He thinks that he will agree.

6) Asel asks what they are talking about.

7) Nick says that there is no secret at all, Aidar has got a good idea. He proposes to invite an English boy John Smith to meet with their class.

8) Asel agrees that it's really a good idea but first they should ask their English teacher for the permission to do it.
