1. Once again I WAS STAYING with my grandparents at the seaside for three weeks. 2. I really DIDN'T WANT to go but my parents MADE me. 3. I HATED every minute of it.
4. It WAS so boring. 5. What DID I DO? Nothing much. 6. I WENT swimming in the morning because I COULDN'T wait to get out of the house. 7. I HAD BEEN SUNBATHING for a few days but then I GOT this terrible allergy and HAD TO stay out of the sun. 8. I CAME home at noon because my grandma INSISTED on it. 9. We HAD lunch quite early. 10. Then they WATCHED TV and I LISTENED to music. 11. On my discman, of course. 12. I never WENT dancing or PLAYED any sports. 13. I only HAD TO play cards with them. For hours at a time. 14. That was one thing they truly ENJOYED. 15. Sometimes my grandad and I WENT fishing. 16. That WAS OK, except he KEPT telling stupid stories and I GOT fed up after some time.
17. You see, my grandparents ARE quite old, but not so bad actually. 18. But they LIVE on a small island where there ARE no young people. 19. They ENJOY the peace and quiet of it but it DRIVES me crazy. 20. I WANTED to go out and meet people. 21. Holidays ARE supposed to be fun, right? 22. How CAN I make my parents see that? DO you HAVE any idea?
