Winter is the coldest season of the year. The days are short and the nights are long and dark. Most people prefer to stay at home on long winter evenings watching TV, knitting socks and reading books.

If there is enough snow one can go skating, skiing and tobogganing. But even if there isn’t, it’s not a problem nowadays to go to the skating-rink, to rent skates and enjoy yourself on a frosty sunny day. Some people prefer to be out of town in order to sledge or to ski in the woods. Those who are brave enough go in for extreme kinds of sports such as ski-jumping for example.

Winter sports as well as summer ones help you to stay healthy and fit. Moreover, you’ll never get frozen if you do something active. If you want to learn more about winter activities it would be exciting to watch Winter Olympic Games which are held every four years and include almost all possible kinds of sports and games.
