Сделайте пересказ 16 предложений. Everybody admits that nowadays the world faces a number of serious problems connected with the environment. Among the environmental problems threatening living things and humans the first place is probably taken by pollution.
One of its forms is air pollution. All burning produces smoke, soot and gases which may be harmful. Burning petrol also produces metal called lead. Lead is poisonous. You can breathe it in, you can take it in through food and water and it stays inside slowly poisoning you.
Air pollution also results in acid rains. Our power stations burn coal or oil. Their burning produces poisonous gases. The wind carries them high into the sky. There they come together with water in the air and make acid rain, acid fog and acid snow, which fall onto the ground and poison rivers and lakes. Trees suffer from acid rain no less than water plants and animals. Millions of trees have died in Canada and northern Europe because of acid rain. The acid eats into the stone destroying buildings. Many of the world’s oldest and most beautiful buildings are in danger now.
Water pollution is as dangerous as air pollution. People dump too much waste into seas, lakes and rivers. As a result they cannot clean themselves. The sea washes the waste onto the beaches and coasts and pollutes them. The worst kind of sea pollution is an oil spill. Oil contains poisonous chemicals. If oil is spilt at sea, air can’t get to the plants and animals under the water and they die. So do waterbirds which get into oil spills.
Dumping industrial and domestic waste leads to soil pollution. Some of this waste may be radioactive and cause nuclear pollution, extremely dangerous to people and animals. Nuclear power stations producing electricity are supposed to be “environmentally friendly”. But if something happens to such a station or something goes wrong there, it begins to pollute vast areas and the result is usually terrible. Such accidents happened in Britain, the USA, Japan and Chernobyl, Ukraine. Used nuclear fuel is very toxic. People tend to keep it under water or bury it deep under the ground in special containers. But we should remember that radioactive waste remains radioactive and dangerous for thousands of years.
One more problem that is being widely discussed is global warming, or greenhouse effect. The gases and soot in the atmosphere make a kind of “screen” which doesn’t allow heat get back into space. There is a danger that the temperature can rise by some degrees in the near future. Climatic changes may do a lot of harm to our planet and those who populate it.
The list of environmental problems also includes growth of population, shortage of food and fresh water in some parts of the world, destruction of wildlife and many others. A lot of them are man-made. Time has come for us to learn to live in harmony with nature and save our planet.

Everyone admits that the world is currently facing a number of serious environmental challenges.

One of its forms is air pollution. Any combustion produces smoke, soot and gases that can be harmful.

Air pollution also leads to acid rain.

Trees suffer from acid rain as much as aquatic plants and animals.

Many of the oldest and most beautiful buildings in the world are now in danger.

Water pollution is just as dangerous as air pollution.

People dump too much garbage into the seas, lakes and rivers.

The worst kind of sea pollution is an oil spill.

Discharge of industrial and domestic waste leads to soil pollution.

Some of this waste can be radioactive and cause nuclear contamination that is extremely dangerous to humans and animals.

Similar accidents have occurred in the UK, USA, Japan and Chernobyl, Ukraine.

But we must remember that radioactive waste remains radioactive and hazardous for thousands of years.

Another widely discussed issue is global warming.

Climate change can cause great harm to our planet and those who inhabit it.

The list of environmental problems also includes population growth, shortages of food and fresh water in some parts of the world, destruction of wildlife and many others.

It's time to learn to live in harmony with nature and save our planet.

Rare are types to which now disappearance yet doesn't threaten, but they meet in such small amount or in such limited territories that can disappear at adverse change of habitat under the influence of natural or anthropogenous factors. In other words, under the influence of, say, adverse climatic conditions, natural disasters (earthquakes, eruptions of volcanoes, mudflows, floods, storms, tornadoes, etc.) because of sharp difference of temperatures, abundance of an atmospheric precipitation and other reasons, and also as it is told above, under the influence of anthropogenous factors. And it means - from vigorous activity of people in this or that area of dwelling of animals and plants without preservation of their shelters and food supply, as a result of replacement of animals from territories occupied by them, destruction of spawning areas or gnezdoviya, the wrong application of toxic chemicals and mineral fertilizers. Factors of concern of animals, their unregulated production and, of course, poaching have great value also is really terrible for animals and the shameful phenomenon for society.
Disappearing animals, by definition of the Red List are those types which are under the threat of the disappearance which rescue is impossible without implementation of special measures. What, in brief, these measures? The most strict and absolute prohibition of production, maximum preservation of habitat, creation of wildlife areas, reserves and others state резерватов. Creation of special nurseries for the contents for the purpose of studying of their biology in the conditions of bondage or semi-free existence without damage to health and with a problem of acclimatization or reacclimatization, and the main thing, reproduction for increase in number. Strict isolation of animals from various factors of concern is thus necessary from people and technical means operated by them.

Hi, Emily!

Hi, Jane!

What's the news?

I bought a new phone. It's amazing. It's got a very good media player and access to Internet.

Wow, that's cool. But even though we use our phones every day, I prefer computers.

Why?

However good a phone's media player is, the computer's one is always better. And it's got a huge screen.

But you can't always take it with you. For example, if you need to go on a vacation, you can't take a huge computer with you, but you always take a phone. And plus, it's got a camera, which also is always with you! Isn't it awesome?

Well, yes. But in case you need to print something or use a program to do something, a computer is the way to.

You're right, too. I guess both a computer and a phone have got their goods.
