The holidays of my dream would be somewhere at the sea-side. Maybe, I would go to some paradise-like island near the ocean. There would be white sand and incredibly clean water. I would dive into the depth of the ocean and would see exotic fish and shells there. I would take my friends with me and we would have a great time together sun-bathing and eating different tropical fruits. And of course we would go in a short safari-trip. There would be a lot of new impressions!
This summer, i flew with my parents to rest in turkey in the ancient city of alanya. there i met a lot of foreigners, and they all spoke different languages that i could not understand. we all the family lived in a hotel. it had a cool pool with warm water and a big, winding hill. and next to it is one very small and shallow, for toddlers. everywhere, wherever i look, large palm trees, fanciful cacti, banana, watermelon, melon plantations and thorns unfamiliar to me grew. the city itself was remembered by my ancient fortress walls, narrow winding streets, houses with tiled roofs emphasized the color of this old city. and walking along these streets and embankment, i imagined that now from the horizon there will be a ship with real, terrible pirates. who are sailing here to hide their looted treasures. the sun in turkey is hot, tender, and the mediterranean sea is salty, blue and immense, and beautiful, large waves are rolling on its shore. in it, when the heat subsided, i bathed and played a lot. in the evening turkey turned into a kaleidoscope of different lights. each hotel played a variety of turkish music, various performances were held for children and adults. and on these warm, romantic evenings, i walked with my father and mother along the embankment and listened to the sound of the sea and looked at the sunset. i really liked my summer and happy holidays in turkey.
Ienjoy reading books very much and most of all i like the book of sherlock holmes stories by arthur conan doyle. the main characters of the stories are a brilliant detective sherlock holmes, who can solve the most complicated cases, and his loyal friend doctor john watson. sherlock holmes always pays attention to every detail and can expose the craftiest criminals. my favourite story is entitled “a scandal in bohemia”. in this story the king of bohemia visited sherlock holmes under an assumed name. he told sherlock that some years ago he had had an affair with an opera singer irene adler. the king was going to get married to a scandinavian princess and he was afraid that irene, who had compromising letters and photographs, could send them to his fiancée’s family. so he wanted sherlock to get them for him. finally, using disguise, holmes got into irene’s house and figured out where the photographs were hidden. but when he wanted to get them, the photographs were not in place. there was a letter from irene and her photograph. she unveiled his plans, but she promised not to use the photographs and letters against the king. so the famous detective was beaten by the clever woman.
