To be honest, I was not fond of reading before my teacher asked my class to read Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Previously, reading was a torture, and I felt unhappy any time I was made to do it. But Shakespeare's poems have changed everything. It took me a few hours to read the whole poem; I felt the plot so profoundly that it made my imagination create pictures of all the characters and events in my head. I felt the pain, love, hate, and many other emotions when reading it.
Now, when I read any other book, poem, or novel, I eager to gain the same level of understanding and involvement in the plot. I think that Shakespeare's poetry was read at the right time so it helped me to develop a love for reading and literature.
