Let's start with the advantages.
1) Learning at an individual pace is determined by the student himself, depending on his personal circumstances and needs. 2) Freedom and flexibility - the student can choose any of the numerous courses, and independently plan the time, place and duration of the classes.
3) Accessibility - independence from geographical and temporary position of the student and educational institution allows you not to limit yourself in educational needs. 4) Mobility is the effective implementation of feedback between the teacher and the trainee. It's one of the main requirements and the bases for the success of the learning process. The technology is the use in the educational process of the latest achievements of information and telecommunication technologies. 5) Social equity is equal opportunities for obtaining education regardless of the place of residence, health, elitism and material security of the trainee. 6) Creativity. There are comfortable conditions for creative self-expression of the trainee.
The disadvantage of on-line learning, in my opinion, is the absence of group communication. However, I’m sure this is also can be fixed. So, if I was asked to choose the type of studying, I would probably choose online learning.
