I'm writing to you from Sochi. My family and I are on holiday here. The weather is fantastic! It has rained only once. It's sunny but not too hot. The sea is calm and warm. My mum and dad are playing volleyball now and I'm lying on the beach after swimming in the sea. I'm looking forward to seeing you and showing you my seashell collection.

We all have favourite animals or pets and we do care about their well-being. Each person who has a pet should take a good care of it. In my opinion, animals should be always well-fed, sheltered and kept in comfort. They deserve it, as they are good friends of ours.
As for my family we have several pets and we look carefully after them. At the country house we have a number of chickens and rabbits. That was my grandma’s idea and we didn’t mind. Our rabbits have recently had babies and I should say they were adorable. We had to call for a vet though, as one of the babies was born limp.
At our flat we keep two cats and a parrot. I know they don’t like each other, but we try to keep them separately.
Speaking about animal on global level, we know that there is an increasing problem of wild animal extinction nowadays. It’s happening for various reasons. First of all, it’s the environment pollution which takes place over the last centuries due to human irrational behavior. Secondly, some species are hunted for their valuable body parts, such as fur, tusks, skin, caviar, etc. Thirdly, there is a problem of natural habitat loss. One of such examples is deforestation.
And, finally, there is a problem of caging animals, for example, in zoos. Luckily, there are many animal protecting organizations today which fight for their welfare. I’m sure with the decent amount of medical help, nutrition and shelter many animals will be saved even those which are prone to extinction.
