one day of my life
i want to tell you about one day of my life. my everyday life is a life of a usual teenager but i always try to make my life more interesting.
i usually get up at 7.30 because my school starts at 8.30. i take a shower, have breakfast and go to school. i usually have lunch at the school canteen. the food there is quite tasty and not very expensive. school finishes at about 2-3 pm. i like going to school because there i can meet my friends and chat with them in the breaks. i also like the subjects like maths, art and physical education. after school i don’t go home immediately, because i have sport classes after. i do gymnastics, i started it when i was 4 years old and now i’m quite good at it. i go to these classes on mondays and thursdays. on tuesdays and fridays i have music classes, i learn to play drums. i think it is very interesting, in my school no one can play drums.
after all my classes i usually go home and have dinner, then do my homework and after that i relax. i usually go to bed at about 11. this is how i spend my day, it is not so special but i am trying to make every day different from another one.

No pain, no gain
David Simmons is from London but has been in China for three months now.
He studies at Denfeng Kung Fu School. In this interview with
Martial Arts Monthly (MAMA) David talks about life at school.
Mom, tell me about a typical day. When do you get up?
David, Our daily routine is the same every day. We get up at five o'clock and
we immediately start training. We have no time to wash or
have breakfast. If we are late, the teachers beat us with sticks.
Mom, how do you train?
David First we train our legs, arms and stomachs. We run up and down
1000 steps and do push-ups. The workout is very, very hard.
Mom, how do you understand the teachers? Do you speak Chinese?
David Elite, yes. But the teachers speak English, so I don't have
problems.
Mom, when do you have breakfast?
David At half past seven. We have rice and soup. The workout starts again at
nine o'clock. We practice punching. We study
jump high and kick too. At eleven o'clock we take a break for ten
minutes, and then the workout starts again.
David, No, not really, because we don't fight. We study
to defend, not to hurt other people.
Mom, when do you stop for lunch?
David, twelve thirty. But, of course, our arms and legs hurt after everything Mom did, When does the workout end?
education. So we stretch out for ten minutes and then we have lunch.
After lunch we have a long rest.
MOM, do you train during the day too?
David, yes. I like the afternoon because we train with sticks and
