2. Where do families get together? Families get together to help one another on consructing a "yurt" which is the traditional Kazakh home.
3. What are the yurts made of? The yurts are made of long curved pieces of wood that are tied together and make the skeleton for this round house. The most important Kazakh holiday in our family is "Nauryz". My paremts and I prepare for it by buying gifts for our reratives.
On March 22-nd we get together to help our grandparents on consructing a "yurt" for the holiday. We decorate our "yurt" beautiful Kazakh ornaments, rugs and blankets.
Then we sit at a long low table and eat such Kazakh dishes as "karta", "plov", "baursak", "besbarmak".
Then we have tea and listen to our family children playing dombyras and kobyz and singing songs.
I love our holiday.
