Nowadays friends play a very important role in a person's life. Some people think that it is impossible to live without friends while others believe that friends are not the most important thing in life. Who is right? The question is controversial. Now I am going to express my point of view and debate with my opponents.
I strongly believe that friendship yields benefits to a person. Firstly, friendship satisfies our need for socializing. There are things that are more interesting to do with someone else, such as going to a cafe, doing shopping, or travelling to the seaside. Secondly, your friends can significantly influence your outlook — through communication, discussion of interests and events, you will learn a lot and improve your knowledge. Thirdly, friends help people to overcome life's challenges that are difficult for them to cope with on their own.
However, there is another opinion that friendship just brings trouble. To begin with, often people's opinions on an important issue may not coincide. If you suddenly quarrel, you will have to seek a compromise and be able to yield to your friends when necessary. Also, the closer a person is to you, the worse he or she is able to offend you. So when you make friends you take certain risks.
Undoubtedly, there are disadvantages in friendship. Yet, I insist that every person is afraid of possible loneliness. True friendship makes you feel needed.
In conclusion, I can say that if you have at least one friend, you can call yourself a happy person.
