Jack London. "Martin Iden". Fiction/autobiography. The story is about a simple sailor who is very ambitious and is willing to educate himself and become a writer. He is not accepted since he is poor, no one wants to publish his works, and the love of his life cannot marry him. Eventually, he gains success and at this point everyone who used to despise him, turn to him and became incredibly kind to him all of a sudden. This book is autobiography, Jack London describes his early years, his strive for education and enormous powers to keep going. It is an amazing book, it really spoke to me. I would definitely recommend it to everyone. It shows that success doesn't come without courage and a strong will. This book is very encouraging.
The painting is portraying a nice school walk on a Sunday morning. The sky is clear and light blue- only with a few clouds, green trees around and a house in the far right corner, surrounded by bushes. It looks like the people are in the countryside. The kids are playing. Some look shy- hiding beside the teacher and others- a bit too playful. There are little girls that are discussing things and the boys are joking around. Everyone is dressed in very covering clothes- untypical for todays time, so the painting must be from a while ago. The atmosphere is nice and the used colors are a beautiful pastel shade. Even though the people seem realistic, it’s obvious its not an actual picture, but in fact - it’s painted.
