1. Washington is a capital of the United States 2. There are two oceans that border the United States. These are known as the Pacific Ocean on the west and the Atlantic Ocean on the east. 3. Statue of Liberty is a sculpture in  Liberty island in the middle of New York, in Manhattan. 4. American flag consists of thirteen equal horizontal stripes of red (top and bottom) alternating with white, with a blue rectangle in the canton. The 50 stars on the flag represent the 50 states of the USA and the 13 stripes represent the 13 British colonies that declared independence from the Great Britain and became the first states in the Union. 5. As the population grew, Americans needed more space to spread out in. Second reason is gold rush. 6 Native Americans are Indians. Native Americans in the USA are the original people within the province that is now covered by the continental United States.  7. Officially,  Congress ruled that after 1941 the 4th Thursday in November would be a federal holiday proclaimed by the President each year.
