Eagle - the city (from 1566) in Russia, administrative center of Oryol region. Located 368 km south-west of Moscow, on the Upland in the European part of Russia, on both banks of the river Oka and its inflow Orlik. Orel and Orel region are part of the Central Federal District, as well as the Central economic region. City of Military Glory (honorary title awarded April 27, 2007, among the first three cities, along with the Kursk and Belgorod).
