Julian Patrick Barnes born 19 January 1946 in Leicester in Central England.
From 1957 to 1964 he studied at the School of the city of London (eng. City of London School). After high school, Barnes goes to College "Magdalena", University of Oxford, faculty of modern Western European languages. In 1968 graduated from the University.
The first literary experiments began detective novels, which Barnes published under the pseudonym Dan Kavanagh.
