n Russia, the first International Women's Day was celebrated in 1913 in St. Petersburg. The petition addressed to the mayor , it was stated on the organization " ... research on women's issues in the morning ." Authorities allowed and March 2, 1913 in the building of the Kalashnikov Grain Exchange Poltava street gathered a half thousand people. The agenda included issues of scientific readings : the right to vote for women; public provision of maternity about dearness zhizni.Mezhdunarodny Women's Day on 8 March, the first years of Soviet power became a national holiday . Since 1965, this day was not working . There was a festive and ritual. On this day, celebrations state accountable to the public on the implementation of the state policy on women . Gradually, International Women's Day in the country lost its political flavor .

After the collapse of the Soviet Union on March 8 remained in the list of public holidays the Russian Federation. Celebrated International Women's Day and in the CIS countries : Azerbaijan , Georgia, Kazakhstan , Kyrgyzstan, Moldova , Tajikistan , Turkmenistan , Ukraine and Belarus as the International Women's Day , in Uzbekistan as Mother's Day , in Armenia it is celebrated on April 7 as the Day of Maternity and Beauty .перевод на русском .В России впервые Международный женский день отмечался в 1913 году в Петербурге. В этот день на торжественных мероприятиях государство отчитывалось перед обществом о реализации государственной политики в отношении женщин. После распада Советского Союза день 8 марта остался в перечне государственных праздников Российской Федерации. Отмечается Международный женский день и в странах СНГ: в Азербайджане, Грузии, Казахстане, Киргизии, Молдавии, Таджикистане, Туркмении, Украине, Белоруссии как Международный женский день; в Узбекистане как День матери; в Армении его отмечают 7 апреля как День материнства и красоты.
