Yeah sometimes I do
Solo only when I was a child.
In my adult life it was only when my kids were little so I did it with them, or when on a date.
It's quite rare e.g. every few years but every now and then it might be a trip to the seaside or large park, most likely with a date and she's either never flown a kite or she has but it just so happens to be windy, a shop nearby is selling kites and so on the interest of being cute and romantic and something nice to do on said date, we fly a kite.
I've never bought and flown one solo in my adult life — I was a child when I flew one solo — in my adult life it's only been in the context of a date or with my kids when they were small.

“No, nothing special. Two or three good films are going to be on. Why do you ask?” " The thing is that I have absolutely to wear," said Julia. At that moment she (was wearing) trendy jeans and a casual jumper, that was much (smarter) that any of my own clothes..
“I (have saved) some money", Julia went on, "and I want to go this Saturday. Do you want to come with (me)?”
I wish I (had said) No, but I didn't. We'd been good friends for years and I (didn't want) to disappoint her. As I had expected, it was a nightmare shopping. There (was) a crowd (ТАК НАПИСАНО?) of people everywhere and I was exhausted in an hour but Julia was not going to give up so soon. She said that she (wouldn't return) home without something really nice. We spent three horrible hours in the shops and she ended up buying some floral blouse my grandmother would be happy to have in her wardrobe.
