"but i am very hungry. will you please give me some milk? " so they gave him some milk. then they said, "now, timothy, catch the mouse! " "oh, well, all right! " said timothy. "where is this mouse? " so he jumped up and ate the fish. he was glad to see that there wasn't any mouse on the table. "you must sniff, timothy," the people said. " sniff,sniff, sniff! " said timothy. "Нюх, нюх, нюх!" сказал Тимоти. "О, я чувствую запах хорошей чистой одежды в корзине для белья!" Он прыгнул в корзину. Там Тимоти увидел мышонка.
"О, Боже," сказал Тимоти, "я должен поймать вас, мистер Маус".
"Почему?" сказал мышонок.
Тимоти не знал, почему он должен поймать мышонка.
"Вы очень плохая мышь?" спросил он.
"Я пугаю людей", сказал мышонок.
"Мне тоже нравится пугать людей", сказал Тимоти. "Это все, что ты делаешь?"
"Я ем вещи", сказал мышонок.
"Я тоже люблю есть вещи!" сказал Тимоти.
"И я немного шумлю", сказал мышонок.
"Я тоже шумлю", сказал Тимоти.
"Это все", грустно сказал мышонок.
"Ну, - сказал Тимоти, - если я тебя отпущу, ты не будешь пугать людей?"
"О, нет!" сказал мышонок.
"И ты не будешь есть вещи?" сказал Тимоти.
"О, нет!" сказал мышонок."
"И ты не будешь шуметь?" спросил Тимофей.
"О, нет!" сказал мышонок."
"Я не буду ловить тебя!" сказал Тимоти любезно.
"О, благодарю тебя!" сказал мышонок и мгновенно убежал.
Тогда Тимофей вылез из корзины для белья и пошел в столовую.
Люди посмотрели на него и сказали: "Тимофей хороший кот, но он не может поймать мышь!"
Тимофей ничего не сказал.
