I'm writing from Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. We're staying in a large hotel on Khreshchatyk Street. This is the main street of the city. Kyiv looks like a huge park with its chestnut trees. Yesterday we visited the Kyiv — Pecherska Lavra. The complex of this monastery are really unique. We saw the official residence of the Ukrainian goverment. It is located in a very beautiful architecture building Mariyinsky palace. We were impressed by great number of cathedrals and churches. They represent that Kyiv is the center of Orthodox Church.
