The film is based on true events, the prototype of the main character is Ron Clark, who lived in a small town in North Carolina. An enthusiastic educator who used to teach elementary school in the provinces, he moves to New York and starts work at one of the city's schools in Harlem, where, as it turns out, there are only problem students. Ron Clarke faces numerous obstacles, first of all, the organization of education itself - the children seemed uncontrollable and did not want to learn anything at all. Ron believed that he and the children were one family, which was contrary to school ideas about the relationship between teacher and students. However, gradually he manages to get along with them and make them not only the best class in school, but in the whole city.
