The action takes place on Earth during the Ice Age. The saber-toothed squirrel Skrat buries his only acorn in the ground in order to stock up, as a result of which he causes the glacier to descend and almost loses his life. After the Scrat is almost crushed by a huge number of animals that migrate to warmer climes, fleeing from the frost.
